Philanthropy

All undergraduate and alumni members of The Delta Chi Fraternity have joined hands in fighting cancer together and named The V Foundation for Cancer Research as its preferred philanthropic organization. Each year, Delta Chi chapters and colonies raise tens of thousands of dollars for international and local charitable organizations. It is the hope of Delta Chi that if all chapters unite their services and resources to benefit a single  organization, Delta Chi can make a greater impact on that organization. So far this has been the case, with more than a million dollars being raised by Delta Chi chapters across the US and Canada since 2006.

Over the past two years the Delta Chi Wisconsin Chapter has raised over $5000 for The V Foundation. We typically hold two fundraising events each year, one in the fall, and one in the spring. Our fall event last year was "Delta Chi-potle" which was a great success because there's nothing better than contributing to the fight against cancer through buying a delicious burrito. Our Spring event is "The Carolina Reaper Challenge" which is held annually. This last year was our second annual Carolina Reaper Challenge and we raised over $2000. We are looking forward to our future philanthropic efforts and aim to contribute even more to our new international goal of $2,000,000.

Humorology 2017-2018

Humorology, or "Humo" for short, is an annual, juried, musical/variety show that takes place at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in April of each year.  Humorology has been a UW - Madison tradition since 1948, touching the lives of students and the community through the friendships that are made, and funds that are raised. Each year, over 600 students spend the course of the academic year on a team (cast), writing, composing, choreographing, and directing original mini-musical comedies. This year, 10 casts will compete for seven spots in the final show (to be announced). While competing to create the best show, the casts also compete against one another to raise the most money for the philanthropic partners Humorology chooses to donate to that year. â€‹This competitive spirit has allowed Humorology to donate $185,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County and the Dane County chapter of United Cerebral Palsy (2015 and 2016) and $195,000 to Dane County's Rainbow Project this past year.

This year, Delta Chi is paired with girls of Gamma Phi Beta, and guys of Zeta Beta Tau. We have had much success in our Humo shows over the past two years, taking "Best Show" and third overall two years ago, and "Funniest Show" last year. We hope to work hard with GPhi and ZBT this year to win the honor of Humorology Champions!
